Project 6 - Digital Imaging
This piece is a story of where I was in high school and the beginning of college when interacting with a certain person in my life. It is a story in motion of the pulling away from the bad into the hands of the good. I drew inspiration for the bottom image based off a previous drawing I had already drawn to express these emotions and memories. This piece is called, "How Does it Feel to Be Small?" The title is the question that the bottom picture visualizes as the answer. "Being small" is a phrase that I developed as a result of this memory. It means to physically or mentally shrink back from an outside force. In this sense, it is to explain the emotions of verbal and emotional abuse visualized through if someone is yelling at the subject or the subject is overwhelmed. I wanted to take this concept further for two images and finish the story of how it ended. Friends and family helping fix the situation. The reaching hand is the base concept for this. The two environments between the pictures show the hope and trauma from both sides of the story. The top piece is called "Hope" and the bottom is called "Trauma". These titles given to them are direct and to the point about an experience such as this.
