April's Issue

This month's issue of CANINE features Murphy! Nathan M.'s friend's dog who is stunningly photogenic. He is featured on the cover of CANINE this month for his new fashion line. He is accompanied by his "-with bandanas!" quote, the announcement of his fashion line and other little advertisements, such as chew toys and coats.

I took inspiration from the blanket he has on his head to it being a style of fashion, so I went with that idea for his theme. Murphy is a happy photogenic dog that goes really well along with the fonts and texts for the cover. I tried to give this cover uniformity with the wording with the whites and tans because of the white light and also the background wall color behind the word CANINE. I really enjoy messing with font pairing and placement when it comes to these VOGUE covers. I have been doing my FELINE series for a while but I wanted to take a stab at dogs so I created the CANINE series. I wanted to mess with the font size, font type, and other text tools to make it look as professional looking as I could make it so it could look like a real VOGUE magazine. I really enjoyed working with dogs for the first time and hopefully I can find someone else's dog to continue this series as well as the FELINE series.
