Final Project Phase A
After deciding what to do and hearing feedback after an in-class project pitch I created a project brief for myself to follow through the design process. The requirements and guidelines were set for me. I let myself be ambitious and include everything I want to have a cohesive end project with all phases flushed and perfected.
My choice of project came from an idea I've had since high school. Over the years I have been inspired by my old dance teams website. They have improved their website over the years, but I always thought it needed a better design and it still does. I want to take what they originally have and remodel it to create a more efficient and functioning website. I have always wanted to do this so now is my chance. The goal of this project is to create a 1280px and 1920px website that is new and improved on the original design.
Phase A
Phase A will be composed of three parts. Research and content brief, two mood boards,
and the wire frame mock up.
The research brief will be a simply designed document that mimics the style of the mood
boards but overall function is a catch all for the content and research needed for the website. This
includes images, text, and ideas for the website in what needs to be presented for the user. The
document should be uploaded as a PDF with links, content, and textual content in it. Also include
the link to AAOD website for citation.
The mood boards of this project should be two portrait designs that relay the color
palette, inspiration design and font ideas for the project. This part can be in between the style
tiles we have done in the class previously and regular mood boards. These designs should be
different and not variations of each other. These designs will affect the research brief look once
completed. This should be uploaded as a 3+ page PDF that includes the two mood board designs
and a citation and resource page of images used.
The last part of this project is a quick simplified wire frame mock up of the website pages
to get a start on the development. This stage doesn’t have to be a thorough design, just a quick
compilement and rough outline of what the website could look like. As a wire frame calls for,
focus on functionality of content placement and not detailed design. This stage is up for
redesigning during future phases. This should be uploaded as another 8.5 x 10 PDF that includes
the wire frame mock ups. This can be multiple pages if need be.
